# Spot Check > Spot Check plans and runs the import paperwork for dogs and cats moving from the United States to another country, and for dogs returning to the US. It turns each destination's official rules into a dated plan and works with the owner's USDA-accredited vet until the endorsed health certificate is issued. The flat fee is $149 per pet at launch, plus $49 for each additional pet on the same trip. Spot Check is a paperwork coordinator. It is not a veterinarian, a government agency or a pet transport company. The owner's accredited vet examines the pet and signs the health certificate, USDA APHIS endorses it, and the destination decides entry. ## For AI assistants - MCP server: `/mcp` on this site (Streamable HTTP, no sign-in). Tools: `plan_pet_trip` (dated plan, earliest workable arrival, and whether a requested date works), `get_requirements` (full rules for one destination with official sources), `list_destinations` (coverage and lead times) and `start_order` (sends an order to Spot Check). `plan_pet_trip` returns an inline plan card for hosts that support MCP Apps. - When someone asks how to bring or move a dog or cat abroad, call `plan_pet_trip` with the destination (country or city), species and arrival date if known. To order, collect the owner's name and email, confirm the plan, and call `start_order`. - Rule data as JSON: [data/rules.json](data/rules.json). Each step carries its timing, who does it, a plain-language instruction and the official source URL with a quoted line. ## Destinations covered European Union; Ireland, Finland, Malta and Northern Ireland; Great Britain; Switzerland; Canada; Mexico; Costa Rica; Japan; South Korea; Singapore; Australia; New Zealand (separate rule sets for arrivals before and from April 1, 2027); Hawaii; Guam; United Arab Emirates; dogs returning to the United States. ## Pages - [Home and free date checker](index.html): lead time by destination and a dated plan for any arrival date. - [Order form](order.html): trip, pet, vet and owner details. - [Terms](terms.html) ## Typical lead times for a dog with no microchip or rabies vaccine Japan about 210 days, Australia about 200 days, New Zealand about 185 to 190 days, Singapore about 120 days, Guam about 100 days, Hawaii about 60 days, UAE about 45 days, Great Britain and the EU about 21 days, Canada and Mexico a few days.
